Hot Rolling

Hot rolling involves rolling the steel above its re-crystallization temperature (typically over 1700° F). At this temperature, it can be shaped and formed easily, and the steel can be made in much larger sizes.

Pickling and Oiling Treatment

Since Hot Milling occurs at high temperatures, it leaves a discoloring oxide layer on the surface.

Pickling is a surface treatment where the steel is dipped in acid to clean debris, rust and other unwanted foreign materials
